Da Brat and her wife Jesseca Harris-Dupart learned the gender of their baby at a lavish gender reveal party.

The Chicago rapper and entrepreneur uploaded a video of the celebration on Instagram on Saturday (March 25). They were surrounded by relatives and friends, as well as a sea of pink and blue colors to signify the child’s potential gender. The married pair was dressed in brilliant colors from head to toe as well.

In the video, both women and their guests could be seen watching a decorative screen as it counted down from 10 to reveal the baby’s gender. Everyone in the room went into absolute chaos as soon as the screen flashed “It’s A Boy.”

“Baby Harris – Dupart is a boy,” the couple captioned the joyous clip along with a series of blue heart emojis.

Several celebrities and public personalities sent their blessings to the couple on their impending bundle of joy.  Most notably, Jermaine Dupri wrote: “Congratulations!! I knew it was gonna be a boy.”

In 1992, Dupri signed Da Brat as one of the first artists to his So So Def label. Since then, the two have remained friends and have worked on songs together.

The Funkdafied rapper made her pregnancy public last month by posting a series of images on Instagram showing off her growing baby bulge while rocking Chicago Bulls gear.

Several of Da Brat’s Hip Hop peers commented on her comments section, including Missy Elliott, Bun B, Trina, D-Nice, and Muni Long sending their love and congratulations.

“Awwww this so Amazing,” Missy wrote, while Bun added: “Aww shit it’s all the way up! Congrats y’all!!”

Da Brat also showcased her pregnant belly in a gangster-inspired photoshoot for PEOPLE magazine alongside Jesseca Harris-Dupart. She also spoke openly about her and Jesseca’s challenging pregnancy experience with the magazine.

“I had never been so excited about something that I didn’t even know I wanted. I fell in love with the idea and then it was all snatched away from me,” she said, referencing a heartbreaking miscarriage.

Luckily for the couple, the 48-year-old rapper “still had quite a few of her eggs left” and they chose an anonymous donor described as “an eager entrepreneur” from their cryo bank.

“It’s just a blessing. I’m excited!” she added. “I never thought I was going to have kids. I just thought it wasn’t in the cards for me. I’ve had a great career, a full life. I felt like, because I didn’t get pregnant earlier on, then it just wasn’t going to happen for me.

“I started looking at life so differently [after meeting Harris-Dupart. I was like, I want a little me with you. Something special from the both of us that we can share and raise and love unconditionally.”

Da Brat came out as homosexual in March 2020 before marrying Jesseca Harris-Dupart in February 2022.
