Diddy‘s music career has shined brightly for the past three decades, and now, he’s been selected for the prestigious Global Icon Award at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
Billboard reports that the iconic Mr. Bad Boy himself is set to receive the prestigious award on the VMAs stage at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on September 12th.
Puff will add an exciting twist to the awards show by taking the stage for a performance, marking his first VMAs appearance since 2005. Back then, he joined forces with Snoop Dogg for a memorable orchestral tribute to the late Notorious B.I.G.
This Harlem-born mogul is making waves with four nominations at this year’s VMAs. His nods include Best Hip Hop Song for “Gotta Move On (Queens Remix)” alongside Bryson Tiller, Ashanti, and Yung Miami, as well as a nomination for Best R&B Song for his collaboration on Metro Boomin’s “Creepin’ (Remix),” featuring The Weeknd and 21 Savage.
Additionally, both of these songs are up for the Best Collaboration award at the VMAs.
It’s not just Diddy who’ll be lighting up the stage that night; Lil Wayne and Doja Cat have also been chosen to perform.
