WSB-TV reports that the former president has hired Steve Sadow to replace Drew Findling on his legal team. They’re working to fight the multiple felony RICO charges he’s facing in Georgia.
Trump is set to turn himself in at Fulton County Jail on Thursday (August 24th), during which his mug shot will be released to the public. He is facing 13 charges, including violating Georgia’s RICO Act, connected to allegations that his team attempted voter fraud to overturn the 2020 Presidential Election.
“I have been retained to represent President Trump in the Fulton County, Georgia case,” Sadow told ABC News. “The president should never have been indicted. He is innocent of all the charges brought against him.
“We look forward to the case being dismissed or, if necessary, an unbiased, open-minded jury finding the President not guilty. Prosecutions intended to advance or serve the ambitions and careers of political opponents of the President have no place in our justice system.”
Aside from serving as Gunna’s attorney in the past year, Sadow has also provided legal representation for numerous high-profile clients in the Hip Hop industry, including Rick Ross, Usher, and T.I.
Gunna was arrested with Young Thug in May 2022 due to the YSL RICO case. But in December 2022, Sadow arranged a deal for Gunna’s release through an Alford plea.
Gunna received a five-year suspended sentence, with credit for the one year he had already spent in jail.
