GloRilla has released a statement following reports that a crowd rush at her performance in Rochester, New York left one person dead and two badly injured.

On Sunday night (March 5), shortly after closing up her Anyhow, Life’s Awesome Tour, the “Tomorrow 2” hitmaker performed at Main Street Armory alongside fellow Memphis rapper Finesse2Tymes.

According to ABC News, panic was caused by rumors of gunshots inside the event, which produced a rush that killed one person and wounded nine others.

Rochester Police responded at 11:05 p.m. after first reports of gunfire inside the 5,000-seat venue. Police discovered several injured victims inside the venue.

Police have questioned whether a shooting truly occurred after a further investigation showed that none of the injuries were consistent with gunshot wounds.

“At this time, there is no evidence to support a shooting having occurred inside the event,” Lt. Nicholas Adams said. “The injuries appear to be as a result of a large crowd pushing towards the exits following accounts of individuals hearing what they believed to be gunshots.”

Three individuals were transported in ambulances to Strong Memorial Hospital, one of them, a 33-year-old woman, later passed away from her wounds. Two of the victims remain to be in serious, maybe fatal condition.

Six other persons were driven privately to nearby hospitals with non-life threatening wounds.

GloRilla addressed the incident on Twitter after the event, expressing her sadness and shock and offering condolences to all who were there.

“I’m just now hearing about what happened wtf [sad face emojis] praying everybody is ok [prayer hand emojis],” she tweeted.

Finesse2Tymes has yet to publicly address the incident.
