The Weeknd has matched Michael Jackson’s long-standing record as the only artist to have multiple No. 1 singles from multiple albums on the Billboard list.

According to Chart Data, both artist are the only individuals to accomplished this record in the history of the Hot 100. According to Billboard, Michael Jackson had several No. 1 singles on albums including 1979’s Off The Wall, 1982’s Thriller, and 1987’s Bad. The Weeknd obtained his No. 1 hit records from the albums Beauty Behind The Madness (2015), Starboy (2016), and After Hours (2020), according to billboard.

The Weeknd won his seventh No. 1 single when their 2016 duet, “Die For You,” Along with singer Ariana Grande,  topped the Hot 100 chart on Monday, March 6.

Earlier this year, The Weeknd broke the all-time record for most monthly global listeners among all artists in Spotify history, according to the Chart Data.

With 94.734 million monthly listeners, The Weeknd ousted Ed Sheeran who previously had the record with 82.40 million. Other names in the top five include Justin Bieber (81.43m), Taylor Swift (81.21m) and Ariana Grande (77.18m).

The Weeknd also made Billboard chart history with the release of 2022’s Dawn FM. In January of 2022, according to the tweet from Billboard the Weeknd had 24 songs on the Global 200 chart, six of them coming from the album, including “Sacrifice,” “Take My Breath,” “Gasoline,” “Out of Time,” “Is There Someone Else?” and “How Do I Make You Love Me?.”

The Canadian singer has achieved a landmark for male artists by simultaneously placing 24 songs on the Global 200. Only Drake and Kanye West are behind him, with 23 and 22 points, respectively.

Additionally, The Weeknd also accomplished the extremely rare feat of having two albums debut in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 list. Dawn FM occupied the No. 2 position, and The Highlights, The Weeknd’s second greatest hits collection, debuted at No. 6 on the 200 list.
