The YNW Melly trial has experienced a temporary pause as the jurors involved in the double murder trial have been dismissed for a week.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel, who has been actively reporting from the Broward County courthouse since the beginning of the trial, suggests that the YNW Melly trial may extend for at least another month since the prosecution still has plenty of evidence to present on its side.
Although the specific reason for the jurors’ one-week dismissal was not confirmed by the outlet, earlier speculation from the Law & Crime Network had suggested that the jury was overwhelmed by the large amount of complex evidence presented by the prosecution, which is why they needed a break.
The YNW Melly trial is scheduled to resume on July 10 after the one-week break.
YNW Melly was arrested in 2019 and charged with two counts of premeditated murder and he’s facing life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. If convicted, he could get the death penalty.
