Young Thug‘s hospitalization due to a “medical emergency” has caused concern among his fans. His legal team reported the incident.
According to a report by WSB-TV, the legal proceedings involving Thugga (whose real name is Jeffrey Williams) were interrupted on Thursday (May 11) due to a medical emergency that required his urgent transfer to a nearby hospital.
“I know he’s had some difficulty of a similar sort at the Cobb County Jail a few months ago, and so I’m obviously concerned about his wellbeing,” his attorney, Keith Adams, told judge Ural Glanville.
“Mr. Williams is sleep deprived, mandated to wake up on court days between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. and not having more than five hours of sleep per night. By the end of the week, Mr. Williams is fighting to pay attention to the goings on in his case.”
As per medical privacy regulations, specifics concerning the illness of Young Thug were not disclosed to the masses. Nevertheless, Judge Glanville granted Adams the authority to visit his client in the hospital.
Before the recent event, attorneys for Thug requested the court to grant him bond, citing inadequate prison conditions. Unfortunately, their request was turned down.
However, Young Thug’s attorneys claimed in a statement that their client was now “fine” and ready to proceed with the trial at 5:45 p.m. ET on Thursday, May 11.
“Jeffery was not feeling well earlier, and the sheriff’s office had him seen by medical personnel to ensure that he was okay,” Adams told Vulture in a statement. “We expect to be back in court tomorrow as we continue to fight these charges and work toward getting him home.”
