Young Thug‘s YSL label signee from Atlanta was arrested and charged with murder due to his alleged involvement in a fatal shooting at a Mechanicsville apartment complex last month.

FN DaDealer, whose real name is Jakobe Moody, 20, was arrested and charged by the police on June 29 for the murder of Tremaine Glasper, 28, in a shooting incident.

Moody is currently being held without bond at the Fulton County Jail on charges of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, as of Saturday afternoon.

According to the police, officers received reports of a person being shot at around 2 a.m. on June 5 at Columbia at Mechanicsville Crossing apartments. They discovered a wounded man inside a red car, later identified as Tremaine Glasper.

As per court records, Moody has been identified as one of the three gunmen who played a role in the murder of Glasper.

Currently, the police have not released any additional information regarding the other two suspects involved in the case.

The motive behind the incident is still under investigation by the authorities.

On Saturday afternoon, Channel 2’s Michael Seiden reached out to Moody’s mother, who tearfully explained that this was a case of mistaken identity.

“He ain’t no gang banger, ” Latonya Moody said. “My son doesn’t have a record. He has a little girl and he’s focusing on his music.”

Mrs. Moody also shared with Seiden that her son and Glasper were friends and had been spending time together just days before the shooting incident occurred. She mentioned that someone opened fire on them in what she described as a drive-by shooting.

The exact location of the reported shooting mentioned by Mrs. Moody is unclear. However, she stated that no one was injured during that incident.

Mrs. Moody said that she and her family are currently in the process of hiring an attorney and plan to make a statement later in the week.

FN DaDealer, who was born on the southside of the city, gained recognition as the youngest signee to YSL in 2020. The following year, he made an appearance on “Slime Language 2,” a collaborative album by YSL, featuring artists like Gunna and Young Thug.

His debut mixtape, titled “Big Deal,” was released in 2021.
